Take Five is a jazz piece composed by Paul Desmond and was first released through Dave Brubeck quartet album 'Time Out' in 1959.
Two years after its recording, at Columbia Records' 30th Street Studio, it became one of the biggest jazz hits in history. It has been a popular choice of repertoire on the jazz spectrum and is still heard in many performances, sound tracks and media. The name was derived from its extraordinary quintuple meter.
